Firefighters, Police Officers, Law Enforcement and two of our very own, Samantha Oliver and Keegan Karaffa, joined the eighth annual Special Delivery for Operation Firecuffs. Hundreds of presents, Mascots and a special Christmas reading from Santa himself, made this a memorable holiday for all those that are in the hospital this holiday season.
Our two representatives from Cambridge traveled in style in the back of the fire truck from Cambridge to Burlington, Vermont. They then stopped off and fueled up at Al’s French Fries along with about fifty other members of Vermont Law enforcement ranging from bomb squad members, Game Wardens and our local Cambridge Fire and Essex Rescue. There last stop was the one that truly showed them what the holiday season is all about - putting smiles on the faces of children when they truly needed it the most. Though it was a wet and rainy day, we had an amazing adventure at Rock of Ages. Our students were great representatives of CES - they were inquisitive, polite and well behaved on the long bus ride. A special thank you goes out to Brad Walker and Chris Rodger for braving the elements and helping us out yesterday!
We are hopeful that the weather will cooperate with us for our trip to Rock of Ages. The forecast calls for cool temperatures ranging from 35 - 46 degrees with wind and scattered showers, more prevalent around lunch time. We are asking everyone to be prepared for windy, wet weather and to make sure each student has their winter jacket, hat, and gloves.
Have a Happy Monday! We all like to have our efforts acknowledged, and will show more of that behavior if it brings us rewards. It's human nature to show behaviors that bring benefits to us. It is also human nature to like and want to please people who recognize our efforts. The “Caught Being Good” program is an initiative to promote and enhance student’s behavior / academic progress and sense of community throughout the school day. |
